FIRST NATIONS FACILITIES

ARCON has been part of a number of new construction projects developed by First Nations. These have included cultural buildings, schools and civic and health care facilities, many of them in remote areas.

In these projects, we help realize the vision of the architectural team, while ensuring that the building will be robust, easy to maintain and comfortable over the long term. As many of the First Nations lands are in areas with harsh climatic conditions, we focus on developing solutions that will minimize heat and cooling loss. At the same time, we draw on our extensive experience devising solutions for remote areas, specifying processes and materials that will be buildable in these locations.

Our First Nations portfolio includes the Mowachaht Muchalaht Big House, Outma Sqilx’w Cultural School (selected as one of the 25 best schools in the world), and the Penticton Indian Band Health Centre.
