EDUCATIONAL

ARCON has worked with multiple school districts to help them improve the quality, longevity and comfort of their facilities.

Many engagements begin with facility assessments, which may include field testing, analysis and modeling. Once we have the data and analysis in place, we partner with facility management teams to evaluate various scenarios for building maintenance and renewal. In some cases, school districts undertake the renovation project themselves, perhaps bringing us in to test windows or roofs. In other cases, we also supply design, contract administration and construction management services.

Regardless of the scope of the engagement, our focus is on providing facility managers the information they need to make wise decisions regarding the renovation and upkeep of their buildings; and to support the implementation of whatever plan they choose.

In addition to this, we have also provided building envelope consulting in the design and construction of new educational facilities, including the prize-winning Outma Sqilx’w Cultural School, the Medical School of UBC-Okanagan, and a long series of K-12 schools across British Columbia. Kendall Jessiman, Founder and President of ARCON, is an Accredited Learning Environment Planner (ALEP), and Governor, Board Member and Past President of the BC Chapter and Pacific Northwest Region of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE, formerly CEFPI).
